Who is Coach Trisha?

Softball has been an active part of my life since a young age. While I was primarily a pitcher, I loved playing outfield and batted from both sides of the plate. My favorite part of playing was base running, diving plays, and throwing junk pitches. As a an instructor and adult athlete, my focus is to have fun in sports as well as teach proper fundamentals of movements to promote health.

Starting as a Pitcher

My first pitching lesson was with my great-aunt, Lynn Wurth, a former professional softball pitcher and Arizona Softball Hall of Fame inductee. I was 8 years old when she taught me a two-seamed fastball in the park that day. By the time I reached high school, I only pitched fastballs during my warm-up. My style of pitching evolved to include 3 off-speeds/change-ups, a wicked rise ball, a curve and backdoor curve ball, a nasty drop ball, and a screw ball, by the time I graduated high school.
